Press Release from F5

New York, NY--(February 16, 2010)--F5, the biennial creativity festival presented by Motionographer.com, returns to the historic Roseland Ballroom in New York City April 15-16, 2011. F5 is a cutting-edge conference exploring the intersection of art, design and entertainment. This year’s theme is “Happy F5,” which reflects a desire to spread and share messages of optimism while celebrating F5’s birthday and return. Drawing together speakers and attendees from a wide cross-section of creative industries, F5 fosters creative collisions -- those moments of lasting insight and inspiration that occur when we uncover something unexpected.

This year’s first round of announced speakers includes DJ and turntablist Kid Koala, who’ll wow the audience with his blend of audiovisual madness and electronic soundscapes; cutting-edge business leader Scott Belsky (Behance) discussing how to make creative ideas happen; and Wayne White, Emmy and Billboard award-winning artist and set designer behind Pee Wee’s Playhouse, who will pull from his one-man biographical stage show. Other speakers include Adam Sadowsky (Syyn Labs), president of the engineering whiz-kid collective behind the massive Rube Goldberg machine in OK Go’s “This Too Shall Pass” music video; trailblazing creative shop Buck, designer of the F5’s awe-inspiring opening title sequence; Nathan Love, character animation maestros known for dark humor and of course, love; and many more speakers to be announced in the coming weeks!

F5 Executive Producer Carlos El Asmar said, “When we launched F5 in 2009, our vision went beyond a design conference. It’s a meeting of great minds, where perspectives are altered. This ethos continues in F5 2011, with a bigger, better festival that is focused 100% on the attendee. We guarantee two days of mind-blowing presentations and performances that are as enlightening as they are entertaining, interactive installations to stimulate the senses, the popular F5 RE:PLAY Festival, our legendary opening and closing night parties, and lots of lifelong connections made. It’s going to be an amazing F5.”

2009's festival drew more than 1,200 people from around the globe to hear the perspectives of msnbc's Rachel Maddow, Doug Jaeger, Jonah Lehrer, Psyop, Digital Domain and other visionary talents, individuals and companies.
