Guru Picks Abraham as Senior Director of Sales

Exec also will oversee new business development for the Toronto-based company.

TORONTO -- Guru Studio announced the appointment of Jonathan Abraham to the newly formed role of senior director of sales and new business development.

In this role, Abraham will help drive worldwide sales for Guru’s original kids and family content, including its flagship preschool series True and the Rainbow Kingdom, as well as develop new business opportunities for the company across broadcast, licensing, consumer products and emerging platforms.

Abraham joins Guru from Portfolio Entertainment where he led the growth of the company’s distribution division as director of international sales and acquisitions. Prior to that, Abraham served as international sales and marketing manager at toy company Zuru in Hong Kong.

“Abraham comes with a wealth of experience creating new partnerships in the kids business,” says Frank Falcone, president and executive creative director at Guru Studio. “We are thrilled to have him lead our sales efforts and bring our growing roster of original kids and family content to a global audience.”

Abraham is another key senior hire for Guru in recent months, as the company continues to expand its leadership team. Abraham will report to exec VP of content and strategy Mary Bredin and Falcone.
