‘Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio’ and ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ Win at Critics’ Choice Awards

The two heavily favored features took home coveted Best Animated Feature and Best Visual Effects awards, respectively, while ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ was the big overall winner, at last night’ 28th Annual Critics Choice Awards.

Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and Avatar: The Way of Water took home coveted Best Animated Feature and Best Visual Effects awards, respectively, while A24’s Everything Everywhere All at Once was the big overall winner, at last night’ 28th Annual Critics Choice Awards, broadcast live on the CW.

Critics Choice Awards are bestowed annually to honor the finest in cinematic and television achievement. Historically, they are the most accurate predictor of Academy Award nominations. The Critics Choice Association is the largest critics organization in the United States and Canada, representing more than 600 media critics and entertainment journalists. It was established in 2019 with the formal merger of the Broadcast Film Critics Association and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association, recognizing the intersection between film, television, and streaming content.

Everything Everywhere All at Once earning five awards including Best Picture, Best Director for Daniel Kwan & Daniel Scheinert, Best Supporting Actor for Ke Huy Quan, Best Original Screenplay for Daniel Kwan & Daniel Scheinert, and Best Editing for Paul Rogers.
