Greenpeace East Asia has announced the development of My Pet Footprint, an animated comedy series designed to address climate change through entertainment. Set to launch via Kickstarter in 2025, the project is produced in collaboration with the acclaimed animation studio Wit & Wisdom. Backers will have the chance to influence the show’s development, see themselves as animated characters, and enjoy exclusive behind-the-scenes access.
The series follows 15-year-old Bella and her sentient carbon footprint companion, Betty, as they travel through time and space, uncovering the effects of climate change and exposing Big Oil’s secrets. Discussions are currently underway to cast high-profile voice talent.
“With My Pet Footprint, we’re not just making a TV show—we’re fueling a movement,” said Mikyoung Kim, Project Manager at Greenpeace East Asia. “By combining the power of animation and comedy, we’re creating a fresh way to discuss climate change that resonates with people of all ages and backgrounds. This series is a testament to our commitment to finding innovative ways to engage and empower people in the fight for our planet’s future.
“Partnering with Greenpeace East Asia on My Pet Footprint is a dream come true for storytellers who want to make a difference,” said Daniel Bird, director at Wit & Wisdom. “We’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in animation, using humor and heart to address the most pressing issue of our time. This isn’t just entertainment—it’s a call for change, wrapped in laughter and unforgettable characters.”
