Goyer Hands in Ghost Rider Reboot

Collider.com posted an interview with GHOST RIDER producer Mike De Luca, where he revealed some details about future plans for the franchise. De Luca stated that DARK KNIGHT scribe has just turned in an outline for his reboot of the series. The story is a mix of his own un-filmed 2001 GHOST RIDER script and ideas suggested by star Nicolas Cage.

This new take on the Marvel superhero will not be directed by Mark Steven Johnson and Eva Mendes will not return as Roxanne Simpson. Goyer is circling the project as a directing job as well. Taking into consideration many fan complaints, the new film, tentatively titled GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE, will carry a hard PG-13 rating. Little is known about plot details but the story will take place in Europe. The producers are also considering 3-D. De Luca hopes to have the film into production this year.
