Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures set their sequel ‘Godzilla 2’ for release on June 8, 2018.
Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have set their sequel Godzilla 2 for release on June 8, 2018, according to a report by Deadline.
Gareth Edwards, who directed Godzilla to a huge $103 million international opening in May, will direct the follow-up after he finishes helming his 2016 Star Wars picture for Disney.
Legendary Pictures revealed at Comic-Con that familiar Godzilla foes Mothra, Rodan and Ghidorah will appear in the sequel.
So far Godzilla 2 is the only film set for that date, although 2018 already has a packed summer schedule with no less than seven tentpoles lined up, including at least two Marvel pics, a new X-Men feature from Fox, and an as-yet untitled Warner Bros.-DC Comics movie.
