Hollywood-based Gnomon Inc. Institutes launches monthly presentations for feature digital production professionals. Attendance is free-of-charge for currently enrolled Gnomon students, $10 per session for others. For the first session on January 14, 1999, Kellie-Bea Cooper, president and owner of the Better Mouse Trap animation production company, spoke on independent animation production. Future sessions will be held on the second Thursday of each month from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm. Future speakers include Doug Nichols, Director of Digital Training at Walt Disney Feature Animation speaking on "The History of Computer Animation at Disney;" Eric Hanson, Digital Supervisor at Walt Disney Feature Animation speaking on "Digital Set Construction;" Jane Gotts, Head of 2D Computer Graphics at DreamWorks Feature Animation speaking on "Integrating 2D and 3D Computer Graphics" and Doug Cooper, Digital Effects Supervisor at DreamWorks Feature Animation, subject to be announced. Gnomon Inc. is a professional institute specializing in training for 3D computer graphics and animation. Courses include introductory to advanced digital 3D and traditional art classes geared toward 3D production.
