Japanese animation producer GDH is teaming with Shanghai-based Internet netcaster Wang You Media, according to VARIETY. The deal will see GDH invest $500,000 into Wang You, which will distribute GDH's Gonzo brand cartoons on its website, 8850.com. Additionally, GDH will provide shows from other houses on a regular basis to 8850.com.
Moreover, Wang You will leverage its relationship with Beijing Yangguang Wangshi Internet Technology's Wangyou.com, an online social network, to bring GDH's cartoons to Wangyou.com's 10 million members. Wang You will also work with the Digital Content Assn. of Japan to help open the Chinese market to Japanese companies.
