Korean and Los Angeles-based 3D-animation house FX Digital/DiFarm and French-American production firm Media Concepts have partnered up to create the 3D-animated musical feature BREMEN. The two companies will share financing and ownership equally and hope to start production in late June of this year.
The story follows a beautiful young deaf girl named Anna, who joins a traveling circus during a Dust Bowl-like period in time. Other than the animals, Anna's only friend is a young gypsy musician named Alexander, who ends up losing his soul in a card game. To save him, Anna makes a deal with a tattooed magician, allowing her to enter into a dream world, which transforms her into an animal and where she has to rescue Alexander's soul before his funeral ends in the real world.
Youngki Lee, FX Digital's head of production, said, "We are delighted with this new co-production partnership. We believe we found the best partner for our BREMEN project."

Media Concepts is wrapping up the second draft of the script, while FX Digital is finishing up the concept designs. Media Concepts will head up all the pre- and post-production. It hopes to be finished by the end of 2004 for a Christmas release.
