The next edition of the Post New York Alliance’s free ‘Post Break’ webinar series will look at practical issues on how to produce and deliver VFX for film and TV; panelists include VFX producer Leslie Lerman and Powerhouse VFX executive producer Ryan Cunningham.
Post New York Alliance (PNYA) has announced the next edition of its free webinar series Post Break on Thursday November 12. The event will examine what post-production supervisors need to know about visual effects. VFX producer Leslie Lerman and Powerhouse VFX executive producer Ryan Cunningham will offer broad, practical advice on how to produce and deliver VFX for features and television. They will describe the role of the VFX producer and offer advice to post-production supervisors tasked with producing visual effects themselves.
Moderated by Ben Baker, Vice President of Studio Services at HBO, the discussion will include critical insights for anyone involved in delivering high quality visual effects, on time and on budget.
The free event is slated for Thursday, November 12 at 4:00 p.m. (EDT). Following the webinar, attendees will have an opportunity to join small, virtual breakout groups for discussion and networking.
Panelists include:
- Leslie Lerman has more than 20 years of experience producing visual effects for feature films. She has collaborated with director Marc Forster on five films including Finding Neverland and The Kite Runner. She has also worked with Sam Mendes (Skyfall, Spectre), Ron Howard (In The Heart of the Sea) and Rob Marshall (Mary Poppins Returns), among others. Most recently, she oversaw visual effects for John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place 2.
- Ryan Cunningham joined Powerhouse VFX as executive producer in 2018. Previously, he served as senior VFX producer at Zoic Studios, Method Studios and The Artery, and as executive producer at The Colony. His credits include Warrior for Cinemax/HBO, Glass for Universal, Maniac! for Netflix and Servant for Apple+. He has also produced several feature films and received an Emmy Award nomination for the CBS series Game Changers.

- Ben Baker is vice president of studio services at HBO, managing the network’s internal post-production resources. He previously served as vice president of post-production at Vice Media, where he led post operations for Vice's original feature and episodic studio. His experience as a post-production supervisor, producer, project consultant, manager, and executive spans projects in the U.S. and internationally for broadcast networks, studios, and independent producers.
