Frank Stanek Named for Thea Lifetime Achievement Award

Frank Stanek receives the Buzz Price Thea Award Recognizing a Lifetime of Distinguished Achievements at TEA's 2013 Thea Awards Gala.

The TEA has named visionary theme park planning consultant Frank Stanek of Stanek Global Advisors to receive the Buzz Price Thea Award Recognizing a Lifetime of Distinguished Achievements at TEA's 2013 Thea Awards Gala (April 6) at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. Mr Stanek will also be the keynote speaker for Thea Case StudiesDay (April 5) of the annual TEA Summit.

Frank Stanek's former Disney colleague, Thea Lifetime Achievement honoree Marty Sklar says,"Frank is one of those 'unsung talents' who make our projects happen – much as Buzz Price did from the beginning of the industry. Perhaps no one has had more impact on the two biggest players in our business – Disney and Universal – than Frank Stanek has had – especially in the growth and development of the industry in the international marketplace. He was a key to creating the background, research and analysis that we all used at Disney to make all kinds of development decisions.”

TEA's annual Weekend of Events begins with the 2-day Summit: the Master Class for Themed Entertainment Executives (April 4) and Thea Case Studies Day (April 5) culminating with the Thea Awards Gala (April 6). All events take place at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim and are organized by the Themed Entertainment Association. Tickets are available now.

Thus began his business planning and development path, becoming immersed in such analytical and developmental aspects as attendance projections, park utilization studies, design modifications, and a host of related strategic planning activities. He has always felt these early years at Disneyland provide him the best career foundation possible, embodied in four words that characterize his achievements: Dream….Believe….Dare….Do.

During 1964 and ’65, the Disney Company designed, built and operated four major attractions at the New York World’s Fair: Carousel of Progress, It’s A Small World, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, and the Magic Skyway. Frank was dispatched to the Fair as Controller of the It’s A Small World pavilion sponsored by Pepsi-Cola...
