Fox Releases New Trailer for ‘Book of Life’

Twentieth Century Fox releases the second trailer for director Jorge R. Gutierrez and producer Guillermo del Toro’s animated feature, ‘The Book of Life.’

Twentieth Century Fox has released the second trailer for The Book of Life, the animated romantic comedy set during the Mexican holiday of the Day of the Dead.

The movie’s storyline, as co-written by director Jorge R. Gutierrez (El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera), follows the adventures of Manolo (voiced by Diego Luna), a young man out to fulfill his dreams. That includes winning the heart of Maria (Zoe Saldana), who in the trailer below makes it clear that’s easier said than done:

From producer Guillermo del Toro and director Jorge Gutierrez comes an animated comedy with a unique visual style. The Book of Life is the journey of Manolo, a young man who is torn between fulfilling the expectations of his family and following his heart. Before choosing which path to follow, he embarks on an incredible adventure that spans three fantastical worlds where he must face his greatest fears. Rich with a fresh take on pop music favorites, The Book of Life encourages us to celebrate the past while looking forward to the future.

In theaters October 17, The Book of Life supporting voice cast includes 22 Jump Street costars Channing Tatum and Ice Cube along with Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy), Christina Applegate (Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues), and Danny Trejo (Machete Kills).
