Fox is moving forward with a big screen adaptation of Kate DiCamillo’s book, THE MAGICIAN’S ELEPHANT.
Variety reports Martin Hynes (THE GO-GETTER) will be directing the project in a similar tone to THE PRINCESS BRIDE. Julia Pistor is producing.
The book, soon to be published, involves an orphan boy who is told by a fortune teller that an elephant will lead to his missing sister.
Two of DiCamillo's previous books, THE TALE OF DESPEREAUX and BECAUSE OF WINN DIXIE, have already been adapted for the screen.
