First Look: UCA’s ‘Fearsome Beastie’

CG-animated adaptation of award-winning children’s book by Giles Paley-Phillips features the voices of Brian Blessed, Alison Steadman and Lizzie Waterworth.

Here’s a first look at The Fearsome Beastie, the CG-animated adaptation of the award-winning children’s book written by Giles Paley-Phillips.

Co-directed by Katie Steed and Jon Hunt, the short film is being produced by London-based animation studio Slurpy Studios in collaboration with the University for the Creative Arts (UCA), Farnham.

“The Fearsome Beastie” first appeared back in 2011, in the picture book published by Maverick Arts, and it has gone on to win numerous book awards, including The People’s Book Prize and the Heart of Harwick Book Award.

The film adaptation, starring the voices of Brian Blessed, Alison Steadman and Lizzie Waterworth, is due for release in 2015.
