Nat Geo Kids, the cross-platform entertainment destination of National Geographic Partners for 4 to 7 year-olds, has unveiled the first image from its upcoming animated series, Pilar.

Pilar is the first animated series based on the books by Brazilian author Flávia Lins e Silva that inspire the youngest readers throughout Latin America to learn about the world through the plucky heroine’s voyages and adventures.

Pilar is a girl who loves traveling and dreams about knowing all the countries in the world. With the help of her magic hammock and along with her best friend Breno and her cat Samba, Pilar travels the world looking for new knowledge: she visits the Machu Picchu Mountains, she meets Zeus in Greece, she visits China, and she is looking forward to more trips!

In addition to the books by Lins e Silva, Pilar has wide potential for the development of licenses and franchises of consumer products for children. The series is produced in Brazil by Mono Studios, with release set for 2020 across all Nat Geo Kids platforms in Latin America.
