First 2 Episodes of ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ to Screen in Cinemas

Sign-ups are now underway for free showings on August 31 at Cinemark Theaters in eight countries.

Grab your staff and traveling cloak -- middle earth is coming to a theater near you! Prime Video’s epic new fantasy-adventure, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power hits the streamer September 2, but two days prior, the first two episodes from the series will also screen in Cinemark theaters across the globe, Variety reports.

What’s more, it’s free!  Ticket reservations begin at 9 a.m. PT today, August 22, and are available for Cinemark Movie Rewards Members (which is free to sign-up) at 200 theaters in eight countries: the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, Australia, the UK, Ireland, Argentina, and Colombia. The show debuts on Prime Video with the first two episodes; one episode will release every Friday in the weeks that follow.

To get us ready for the upcoming epic adventure, Adobe has partnered with Prime Video, allowing fans to use six Rings of Power inspired Adobe Express and Adobe Photoshop templates and a limited edition TikTok lens.

The series is set in the “Second Age” of middle earth, thousands of years before “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings” stories take place.  Throughout the series’ eight episodes, fans will visit the Elven realm of Lindon and Eregion, the Dwarven realm of Khazadûm, the Southlands, the Northnmost Wastes,and Sundering Seas, and the kingdom of Númenór.
