Finalists Announced for 2003 Angelus Awards Student Film Festival

The 8th annual 2003 Angelus Awards Student Film Festival has selected 21 finalists from around the world for their achievements in filmmaking, animation and documentary. The students were chosen from more than 470 submissions, and were honored October 3, 2003 at an awards luncheon in Hollywood.

Six winners will be chosen and honored during the 2003 Angelus Awards ceremony and screening on October 25 at the Director's Guild of America in Hollywood. More than $23,000 in cash prizes will be awarded, including the $10,000 Patrick Peyton Excellence in Filmmaking Award, one of the highest cash awards for student filmmakers.

"After screening some truly outstanding work, choosing these 21 finalists from the 472 contenders was challenging," said Monika Moreno, director of the Angelus Awards. "Each finalist's film depicts core values such as equality, dignity, spirituality and hope, and we are thrilled to support the inspiring filmmakers who created them."

Tickets to the awards ceremony are free of charge and available by calling (323) 874-6633. More information is available from the Angelus Awards Website: www.angelus.org.
