Fantastic Four Toon Headed to Cartoon Network Europe

Moonscoop has signed a far-reaching deal with Cartoon Network at MIP-TV 2005. The broadcaster is to co-produce Moonscoops action comedy series FANTASTIC FOUR based on the classic Marvel characters and has acquired the worldwide broadcast rights outside the U.S. French commercial broadcaster M6 has also picked up the show which is currently in production.

The 26x26 television series combines a mix of 2D and 3D animation. Moonscoop has distribution rights outside the US, with Marvel handling U.S. television and subsequent DVD distribution rights as well as worldwide merchandising.

FANTASTIC FOUR is one of Marvels most prominent comic book families. The stories bring together a brilliant scientist Dr. Reed Richards, his best friend Ben Grim, Susan Storm and her fiery-tempered kid brother Johnny Storm. Once they braved the unknown terrors of outer space together and were changed by cosmic rays into something more than merely human becoming Mr. Fantastic, The Thing, The Invisible Girl and The Human Torch. Together, they battle evil and fight the ultimate villain Dr. Doom.

Development of the television series highlights Marvels aim for consistent, high-profile exposure and excitement for the FANTASTIC FOUR franchise worldwide. It is set to follow the summer 2005 FANTASTIC FOUR feature film produced by Marvel with 20th Century Fox.
