Beagle’s beloved film The Last Unicorn, Shout! has shared an exclusive clip with AWN from the release’s bonus features (check it out below). The movie, one of the most popular fantasy films of all-time, is a poetic tale of a brave unicorn’s journey through a mystic land, seeking others of her kind.
Available tomorrow, August 20, on 4K UHD for the first time as a 4K UHD +Blu-ray combo pack, the new release is a 4K Transfer of the 35mm interpositive along with Dolby Vision and includes bonus features including a Q&A with Peter S. Fans who purchase the standard edition 4KUHD +Blu-ray directly from Shout! receive a double-sided poster featuring both the SteelBook and standard edition art, based on the original theatrical poster, while supplies last.
The film tells the story of an immortal unicorn on her journey to find out if she’s the last of her kind. The animated fantasy features the voice talents of Mia Farrow, Academy Award winners Alan Arkin and Jeff Bridges, Angela Lansbury, and Christopher Lee.
On discovering that she may be the last of her immortal kind, the Unicorn sets out on a long journey to discover what may have become of the other unicorns. On the way, she encounters a genuinely wicked witch and a village with a shameful secret. She also befriends a bumbling wizard, and a bitter, disillusioned outlaw named Molly Grue, meets the mad King Haggard, and, at last, must challenge the terrible Red Bull she so deeply fears to face.
Arthur Rankin, Jr., and Jules Bass directed The Last Unicorn which features an all-star voice cast, including Farrow, Bridges, Lee, Arkin, Tammy Grimes, Lansbury, René Auberjonois, and Robert Klein, with songs from the rock band, America.
In the AWN exclusive clip from the bonus features, Beagle recounts the family legend about his early interest in unicorns.
