Escape Studios Launches Virtual Work Experience Program for Teens

The free 2-day event introduces young people to career opportunities within the creative industries; program runs July 13-14 and registration is now open.

Escape Studios, part of Pearson College London, is launching a new virtual work experience program taking place July 13-14. The program, aimed at students ages 16 - 18, introduces young people to the wide range of careers available within the creative industries.

The free, two-day event will be delivered in collaboration with experts from Vine FX, Industrial Light & Magic, One of Us, and Hexworks. Throughout the event, guest speakers will be setting activities and challenges as well as sharing their own experiences of breaking into the industry.

“The pandemic has accelerated some dynamic changes within the creative industries and the demand for experienced talent is becoming more paramount,” noted Escape Studios Dean Ian Palmer. “This is why our program is designed to help under 18s get their foot in the door by building their understanding of the industry and introducing them to professional networks.”

The event consists of daily workshop-style sessions including the following:

  • Understanding VFX, Animation and Games
  • Insight into career pathways
  • Routes into the creative industries
  • Securing your first job
  • Succeeding in the industry

Participants will have the opportunity to network with the guest speakers, take part in a business challenge and receive a digital badge after completion.

“Escape Studios’ Virtual Work Experience program is a fantastic opportunity for young people to learn about the creative industries,” commented event speaker Andrew Brassington. “The exciting line-up of educational sessions will certainly help them make key decisions about their futures as well as equip them with key skills they need to succeed.”

The official schedule is now available to download. Registration is now open and available here.
