The GoT star will join Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, and Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, along with newcomers Kingsley Ben-Adir and Olivia Colman, on the upcoming Disney+ series.
Khaleesi has found a new franchise! Variety reports Game of Thrones sweetheart Emilia Clarke is in final negotiations for an undisclosed role in Secret Invasion, one of the many projects announced as part of the wave of Marvel Studios’ content coming to Disney+. If the talks go well, Clarke will join Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, as well as Marvel newcomers Kingsley Ben-Adir and Olivia Colman (who is also currently in talks).
In the upcoming series, Fury and Talos battle against the nefarious shape shifting Skrulls, who have infiltrated Earth and the greater MCU. While unconfirmed, it is possible Clarke will play villainous Skrull princess Veranke, a key player in the Secret Invasion comics. From one throne to another! Ben-Adir, whose role is also unknown, will serve as the chief antagonist.
Kyle Bradstreet will executive produce and write. A release date for Secret Invasion has not been announced.
