EFA Nominates ‘Ethel,’ ‘Louise,’ ‘Vincent’ and ‘Zombillénium’

Four European-made features will vie for the award, presented Dec. 9 in Berlin.

‘Ethel & Ernest,’ ‘Louise by the Shore,’ ‘Loving Vincent’ and ‘Zombillénium’ are the nominees for the 2017 European Animated Feature Film Award.

The European Film Academy has announced four nominations for the European Animated Feature Film Award 2017.

The nominees are:

  • Ethel & Ernest, by Roger Mainwood (U.K., Luxembourg)
  • Louise by the Shore (Louise en hiver), by Jean-François Laguionie (France, Canada)
  • Loving Vincent, by Dorota Kobiela & Hugh Welchman (Poland, U.K.)
  • Zombillénium, by Arthur de Pins & Alexis Ducord (France, Belgium)

The nominations were determined by a committee comprised of EFA Board Deputy Chairman Antonio Saura (Spain), EFA Board Member Ira von Gienanth (Germany), EFA Member Anja Šošić (Poland), as well as CARTOON representatives Christian Davin (France), Moe Honan (Ireland) and Alessandro Rak (Italy).

The nominated films will soon be submitted to the more than 3,000 EFA Members to select the winner. The European Animated Feature Film 2017 will be presented Dec. 9 at the 30th European Film Awards ceremony in Berlin.
