‘Dungeons & Dragons’ Series Coming to Paramount+

The 8-episode eOne and Paramount Pictures project pilot will be penned and directed by ‘Red Notice’ writer Rawson Marshall Thurber.

Bring out the good dice! eOne and Paramount Pictures are finally going forward with a Dungeons & Dragons eight episode live-action series, which was first teased in 2021 when it was reported that Derek Kolstad (John Wick) had been selected to pen a pitch. However, the tides have turned as THR now writes that Rawson Marshall Thurber (Red Notice, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) will pen and direct the series pilot, which will be hosted on Paramount+.

eOne and Paramount Pictures have also collaborated on the feature film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, an unrelated project from the same franchise, which will release in theaters March 31. In the film, a charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people. Honor Among Thieves stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, Chloe Coleman; Daisy Head, and Hugh Grant.

While the film VFX will be handled by ILM (VFX supervisors Ben Snow, Dave Dalley, and Scott Benza) and MPC, not much is known about production, plot, or casting details for the series.

Overseeing the series for eOne is Gabriel Marano, EVP Scripted Television.
