DUCK has strengthened its West Coast production roster with the signing of Portland, Ore.-based Impactist, a husband and wife commercial and short film directing duo with more than 15 years of advertising industry experience.

DUCK has strengthened its West Coast production roster with the signing of Portland, Ore.-based Impactist, a husband and wife commercial and short film directing duo with more than 15 years of advertising industry experience. Impactist - which consists of Kelly Meador and Daniel Elwing - has created films for some of the world's most recognized brands, including Nike, Intel, Westin, and the Peace Corps.
"Portland has always been an important market to us, and we're happy to more firmly establish ourselves there with the signing of Impactist," noted DUCK EP Mark Medernach. "With an impressive and diverse portfolio, Kelly and Daniel are an outstanding addition to DUCK's already strong talent pool."
Impactist also specializes in photography, animation, music composition, and audio work. Their industry honors include recognition by IdN, Stash Magazine, Shots Magazine's new directors reel, AdCritic's spot of the day, RES magazine's RES 10, Yahoo!'s viral pick, and a nominee for the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award. Their work has screened at EMPAC, Onedotzero, Seoul International Extreme, and Festival International des Trés Courts, among many others.
Elwing and Meador met while both were working on projects for Nike. Meador launched her career in the apparel giant's Brand Design/Film & Video Department in Beaverton, Ore., where she created countless projects with worldwide distribution. Elwing worked his way up on the live production side of the industry, where he eventually landed the Nike job.
