India's DQE is about to start production on a second season of Nickelodeon's THE PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR, reports AnimationXpress.com. DQE is set to wrap work on the project in early 2011.

In addition to PENGUINS, DQE is providing CG production work for Nick and Frederator's new series FAN BOY AND CHUM CHUM.

Tapaas Chakravarti, DQE Chairman and CEO, told AnimationXpress, “The award of a second season of PENGUINS continues to demonstrate the strength of DQE’s sustained relationship with Nickelodeon Animation Studios built over years of creative and technical innovation and trust.

The technical and creative pressures of working alongside one of the world’s leading animation studios is always challenging and a great learning for both the teams. We have developed an extremely productive working relationship, which is delivering a seamless production pipeline between the teams at Burbank and Hyderabad. An unprecedented result for such a hi-end project.”

“Our most current project, FANBOY, is progressing very well as a direct result of our close and well developed working relationship with the Nick team,” he added.
