Don't miss the California Sun Festival on April 10th

California SUN Festival will happen April 10, 1999 at California State University Northridge. This year's festival has seen an increase in the number of entries from the international animation community, with films from Australia, Canada, China, England, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Indonesia, Japan, and the USA. 57 films were chosen for screening. Selected films include: "Switchback" the 1998 Academy Award winning animation by Kyle Clark; "Sandland" by German animator Heiko Lueg, the winner of the Prix Pixels-INA for 3D animation at the 1999 Imagina Festival in Monaco; and "Do the Evolution," the Grammy nominated animation produced by Joe Pearson for Pearl Jam. In addition to a full day of screenings featuring animation from both independent and studio artists, specialized workshops, guest artists presentations, and exhibitions will run concurrently. A special live presentation will feature Seth McFarlane, the creator of "Family Guy," the new FOX television network animated series.

It is noteworthy that the festival is non-profit and committed to maintaining affordable admission prices ensuring the opportunity for all animation buffs to experience the screenings and also attend the exciting events and festivities. The Package Deal is $ 18.00 for admission to events all day Saturday; $ 7.50 for students with current student I.D. Individual passes are $ 7.50.
