‘Donkey Hodie’ New Years Special Heads to PBS Kids

From Fred Rogers Productions, ‘A Donkey Hodie New Year’ follows Someplace Else and Donkey Hodie, who is preparing for her special family tradition with Grampy and Cousin Hodie; the episode airs December 2.

A new half-hour seasonal special from Donkey Hodie, the puppet series from Fred Rogers Productions and Spiffy Pictures, is set to hit PBS Kids on December 2. A tribute to Fred Rogers himself, “A Donkey Hodie New Year” features an original rendition of Rogers’ iconic song, “Won’t You Be My Neighbor.”

In the special, Someplace Else is getting ready for New Year’s Eve, and Donkey Hodie is preparing for her special family tradition with Grampy and Cousin Hodie. After neighbors celebrate the countdown in their own ways, they come together for an exciting new tradition: singing “Won’t You Be My Neighbor.”

The New Year’s fun continues December 2 on PBS Kids with the debut of a special episode of Alma’s Way, the Emmy-nominated animated series from Fred Rogers Productions, created by Sonia Manzano. In the story “No Sleep ‘Til New Year’s,” Alma and Junior want to stay awake until midnight on New Year’s Eve… but will they actually make it?
