To promote the cartoon’s North American debut at the upcoming D23 Expo, Disney Animation has released two new images from the recently “restored” Mickey Mouse short, Get A Horse!

Featuring Walt Disney as the voice of Mickey, this black-and-white, hand-drawn short follows Mickey, his favorite gal pal Minnie Mouse, and their friends Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow as they delight in a musical wagon ride -- until Peg-Leg Pete shows up and tries to run them off the road.

The animated short, a beautifully crafted “period piece” where the cast of characters is literally chased from the minimalist black and white 2D animated world of 1928 into the boldly colored, stereoscopic 3-D and CG world of 2013, had its worldwide debut back in June at this year’s Annecy Animation Festival, where it was a huge hit with the audience. Get A Horse! will have its U.S. debut in 10 days, on Friday, August 9, during the Walt Disney Animation Studios Panel at the Disney D23 Expo.
