Disney announces that it will be handling North American theatrical distribution of the newest film from Studio Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki’s The Wind Rises.
Walt Disney Studios is announced that it will be handling North American theatrical distribution of the newest film from Studio Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki’s The Wind Rises. The film will be released under the Touchstone Pictures banner.
The Studio has previously released several films from the Academy Award-winning filmmaker’s Studio Ghibli, including The Secret World of Arrietty, Ponyo, Howl’s Moving Castle and Spirited Away.
Hayao Miyazaki brings together the aircraft engineer Jiro Horikoshi and the author Tatsuo Hori, men living in the times of The Wind Rises, to create Jiro, a fictional character at the center of a tale of love, perseverance, and the challenges of living and making choices in a turbulent world.
An official release date has not yet been announced.
