Disney Makes Kim Movie Possible

The Disney Channel kicked off the first in its series of movies made directly for TV, premiering DISNEYS KIM POSSIBLE MOVIE: SO THE DRAMA, April 8 at 8:00 pm, with another airing on Toon Disney April 11 at 5:00 pm. This first animated movie in the Disney Channel Original Movie franchise was produced by Walt Disney Television Animation. The comedy-action movie is based on the KIM POSSIBLE series.

In the movie a new guy at school, Erik, invites Kim to the prom, which causes Ron Stoppable to become jealous and realize he might have deeper feelings for his friend, Kim. The nefarious Dr. Drakken attempts to capture Japanese toy designer Nakasumi. Kim foils his plan but then their nemesis kidnaps Kims dad, Dr. Possible, so its up to Ron to set aside his jealousy and get the lovestruck Kim to help him rescue her dad from a mutant octopus.

Ricky Ullman (PHIL OF THE FUTURE) stars in his first animated character role as Erik, Kims new boyfriend, and Raven (THATS SO RAVEN) stars as Kims friend, Monique. Christy Carlson Romano (EVEN STEVENS) stars as Kim, Will Friedle (BOY MEETS WORLD) is Ron, Tahj Mowry (SMART GUY) is Wade, Kims webmaster and the most intelligent kid on the planet; Kirsten Storms (ZENON) is Bonnie Rockwaller, Kim s cheerleading rival; and Rider Strong (BOY MEETS WORLD) is Brick Middleton Highs dimwitted quarterback.

Jean Smart (DESIGNING WOMEN) is Kims brain surgeon mother while Gary Cole (RTHE BRADY BUNCH MOVIE) is her rocket scientist father. John DiMaggio (FUTURAMA) is the scheming Dr. Drakken, Nicole Sullivan (MAD TV) is Drakkens wicked henchperson, Shego and Nancy Cartwright (THE SIMPSONS) is Rons resourceful pet Naked Mole Rat, Rufus.

Pop sensation Jesse McCartney sings two songs in the movie. Angela Michael performs the theme song, Call Me, Beep Me while Carlson Romano (who recently concluded a Broadway run as Belle in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST), performs an original song, Could It Be? in KIDNEYS KIM POSSIBLE MOVIE: SO THE DRAMA.

Creators/exec producers Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle (DISNEY/PIXARS BUZZ LIGHTYEAR OF TH STAR COMMAND, DISNEYS HUERCULES) wrote the teleplay. The movie was directed by Steve Loter (DISNEY/PIXARS BUZZ LIGHTYEAR OF TH STAR COMMAND, DISNEYSTHE LEGEND OF TARZAN).

The broadcast of the Disney original movie will be followed by a DVD release of the production.

KIM POSSIBLE, a comedy-action series for teens, airs daily at 5:30 pm on the Disney Channel and is also broadcast on the ABC television networks ABC Kids block on Saturday mornings.
