The recently released documentary short gives fans a look at the comic book origin, development and production of the highly anticipated Marvel Studios’ series premiering June 8.
Disney+ is treating Marvel fans to a look behind the scenes of its highly anticipated upcoming Marvel Studios’ series, Ms. Marvel. The streamer has released the documentary short A Fan’s Guide to Ms. Marvel giving viewers a window into the show’s comic book origins through to its development and production as a series. It features interviews with the awarding-winning filmmaking team and the show’s star, newcomer Iman Vellani. The new, original series, Ms. Marvel, premieres on Disney+ June 8.
Ms. Marvel introduces Kamala Khan, who appears to be a normal teenager, that is, until she gets Super Powers. An avid gamer, a voracious fan-fiction scribe, and a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination (especially when it comes to Captain Marvel!), she feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home. Suddenly she gets Super Powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?
Vellani stars as Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel. The cast also includes Aramis Knight; Saagar Shaikh; Rish Shah; Zenobia Shroff; Mohan Kapur; Matt Lintz; Yasmeen Fletcher; Laith Nakli; Azhar Usman; Travina Springer; Nimra Bucha; Fawad Khan; Laurel Marsden; Arian Moayed; Adaku Ononogbo; Alysia Reiner; Laith Nakli; Nimra Bucha; Travina Springer; and Aramis Knight.
Directors for the series are Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (episodes 101 and 106); Meera Menon (episodes 102 and 103), and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (episodes 104 and 105). Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Adil & Bilall, Bisha K. Ali and Sana Amanat are the executive producers. Ali is also the head writer.
The VFX for Ms. Marvel are produced by Digital Domain (VFX Supervisor Aladino V. Debert); Framestore (VFX supervisor Saruta Puff Pisanwalerd); FuseFX; Method Studios; RISE (VFX supervisor Stuart Bullen); SSVFX (VFX supervisor Ed Bruce); Trixter; and Perception.
