Digital Dimension Bringing ‘Improbable Pirate Adventures’ to Annecy 2018

Real-time rendering within Epic Games Unreal 4 game engine powers new CG-animated short-form series aimed at 6-11-year-olds.

Montreal-based CG and VFX studio Digital Dimension is bringing its new CG-animated short-form series,  Improbable Pirate Adventures, to this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

Improbable Pirate Adventures is a character-driven slapstick comedy where you are invited to join a nine-year-old orphan girl, a human-sized Parrot Captain, and a runaway theme park animatronic who travel the modern city making big deals out of little things while living the pirate life to the fullest. Living aboard the Sea Ravager, their pirate ship and treehouse, Captain Krackers and his crew have a glorious time with no parents, no schedule and complete freedom.

Produced using Epic Games‘ Unreal 4 game engine, the 11-minute, 52-episode series was created by Guy Harvey, and executive produced by Louis-Simon Menard.
