DIC Signs Broadcast Deals Across U.K., Europe, Middle East And Africa

Global brand management company DIC Ent. has concluded a slate of broadcast deals throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa for properties, including STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE and DINO SQUAD as well as key titles from DIC's catalog of programming.

The hit evergreen girls' brand, STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE, continues to evolve as a multi-dimensional entertainment franchise with $2.5 billion dollars in worldwide retail sales since its 2003 re-launch, and over 500 licensees around the globe.

Internationally, STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE continues to perform throughout key territories with more than 400 international licensees and a roster of leading broadcasters. DIC recently signed new broadcast agreements for the series, including TV2 (Denmark), TV4 (Sweden), Mnet (South Africa), TiJi/Canal J (France), M6 (France), Tiny Pop (UK), Modern Times (Greece), SIC (Portugal), VRT (Belgium), TSR (Switzerland) and Mediaset (Italy). Additionally, DIC has signed home entertainment partner Fox Video Europe (France and French-speaking Benelux).

DIC's has also signed new terrestrial partners for the new animated series, DINO SQUAD, including Mediaset (Italy) and Mnet (South Africa).

The company has finalized broadcast deals for a slate of animated and live-action titles from DIC's library of approximately 3,000 half-hours of programming, including French DTT channel Gulli (CARE BEARS). In Italy, De Agostini has acquired broadcast rights to SHERLOCK HOLMES IN THE 22ND CENTURY, WHERE ON EARTH IS CARMEN SAN DIEGO and MADELINE.

The U.K.'s Pop Girl has acquired the live-action series CAKE and DANCE REVOLUTION and the animated series TROLLZ. CYBC in Cyprus will air the classic animated series, DENNIS THE MENACE.

In Dutch-speaking Belgium, DIC has concluded a deal with VRT for the animated movies, Dennis the Menace in Cruise Control, Inspector Gadget's Last Case and the CGI animated feature, INSPECTOR GADGET'S BIGGEST CAPER EVER...THE CASE OF THE FLYING LIZARD. Switzerland's TSR has also acquired the broadcast rights to INSPECTOR GADGET'S BIGGEST CAPER EVER...THE CASE OF THE FLYING LIZARD. LNK in Lithuania will air SABRINA, THE ANIMATED SERIES and has renewed the MOVIE TOONS. Kinotrav in Russia has also acquired the broadcast rights to SABRINA, THE ANIMATED SERIES, as well as GADGET'S FIELD TRIP.
