It also includes amazing stories and images from the South American research trip that inspired much of the film. Pete Docter is the director of UP and the Academy Award-nominated MONSTERS, INC. Along with John Lasseter and Andrew Stanton, Docter developed the story and characters for TOY STORY, Pixar’s first full-length animated film, for which he also served as supervising animator. Docter studied character animation at the world-famous California Institute of the Arts (CalArts).
