DECODE’S Save-Ums! Racks Up Licensing Deals & Ratings

Worldwide licensing agent, The Sharpe Co., has negotiated a number of licensing partners for DECODE Entertainments 3D animated pre-school show, THE SAVE-UMS!

New licensing and merchandising partners include Copyright Promotions Group in the U.K., France, Spain, Portugal, the Benelux territories and Italy; Licensing Works in Australia and Newman International in New Zealand. Plus Licens is a licensing partner for Scandinavia and Eastern Europe with the company also picking up merchandising rights for Scandinavia.

Germanys Super RTL will broadcast the series and has merchandising rights for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

THE SAVE-UMS! has proved an audience-winning hit for broadcasters already airing the show. In the U.S., THE SAVE-UMS! broadcasts to 80-90 million households as a weekday strip in the Ready, Set, Learn block on The Learning Channel. Debut ratings have grown by more than 500% and 2002 ratings have tripled in many key demographics.

The show also airs daily on Discovery Kids with excellent ratings. Only a month after its premiere on Discovery Latin America, THE SAVE-UMS! is already among the top five rated Discovery Kids programs (kids 4-11) in markets such as Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela and Chile.

In Canada, the series also leads CBCs Get Set For Life block and continues to increase viewership on a monthly basis, outperforming other established series.

Airs in the U.K. on Five as part of its popular Milkshake block, where it has quickly become one of the highest rating pre-school shows. Universal Pictures has snapped up the U.K. home entertainment rights and is planning a full-scale retail release for early next year.

THE SAVE-UMS! are pint-sized super heroes that race to the rescue to solve pre-school-sized emergencies through collaborative problem solving, critical thinking and the creative use of technology.
