‘Deadpool 3’ Flips into Development with ‘Bob’s Burgers’ Writers

Dynamic writing duo Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin are set to pen the script for the third outing in the Ryan Reynolds-led franchise, the first Marvel-led X-Men universe film since Disney’s Fox acquisition.

Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin have been busy! Not only is the dynamic duo responsible for fan favorite animated series Bob’s Burgers, but, as we recently announced, the new animated series The Great North, which lands on Fox this coming February. Now, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the sensational sisters will tackle the live-action superhero who can saw off his own hand franchise film world with Deadpool 3. Wham! This is a serious match made in brown-pants heaven.

The film will be the first Marvel-led Deadpool movie since Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox, and hiring the Molyneux sisters shows they’re not leaving anything to chance. This also means we may be getting a Disney-fied X-Men reboot, which wouldn’t be the worst news (Dark Phoenix, anyone?). As long as Ryan Reynolds stays, we’re happy.

The Deadpool Twitter account welcomed the new writers warmly with the cutest crossover cartoon:

Wade would be proud, although we’re sure he’d rather have a chimichanga. Now let’s collectively cross our fingers that the franchise retains its “R” rating.
