Joel Silver has been working on the project for almost 20 years and has teamed up with Akiva Goldsman as producer alongside Warner Bros. Silver Pictures' Andrew Rona, who is also producing. Kerry Foster is executive producing.
The character first appeared in 1959 and was renamed to Sgt. Rock in 1977, running through 1988.
