Atlas Entertainment and Hollywood Gang, the producers of THE DARK KNIGHT and 300, have set up a futuristic take on ROBIN HOOD at Warner Bros., according to The RiskyBusiness Blog. Commercials helmer Nicolai Fuglsig came up with the idea and will direct the project. Jason Hall (SPREAD) will pen the script.
The new film will be set in dystopian London where a Robin Hood-like character and his band of thieves bring hope to the beleaguered masses.
Atlas' Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, and Hollywood Gang's Gianni Nunnari are the producers. Hollywood Gang's Craig Flores is the exec producer.
Ridley Scott is currently directing a more faithful version of the tale starring Russell Crowe for Universal and Imagine Ent. That film is set for release on May 14, 2010.
