The 2D animated preschool series, commissioned by France Televisions and produced by Supamonks Studio, gets Season 2 greenlight; new deals bringing show to U.S.A., Russia, France, Nigeria, Sweden and host of other countries.
French animation production and distribution company Dandelooo has signed several deals for the 2D preschool series Little Bear (39 x 7’), commissioned by France Televisions and produced by French animation company Supamonks Studio. Season 2 of Little Bear (78 x 7’) was recently greenlit with new episodes starting at the end of 2021. The full second season will be available in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Targeted at 4 to 7-year-olds, the series is directed by Matthieu Gaillard and based on the picture books by French author and illustrator Benjamin Chaud. The show features Little Bear, a mischievous, cheerful, and playful bear that delights his best friend Rita and his parents. With his extraordinarily active imagination, every moment of every day becomes a crazy adventure or an ‘extra’-ordinary friendship.
The recent distribution deals will bring the series to BBC Alba; French Canadian public media company TFO; Brazilian TV network Globo; Narrative Capital’s kids channel Tiny Pop in the UK; Kidstream (U.S.A.); Carousel (Russia); Czeska Televize (Czech Republic); OCS (France); Good TV (Taiwan); Pineapple TV (Nigeria); RTVS (Slovenia); Pakapaka (Argentina); MTVA (Hungary); LTV Latvia; and DSmart (Turkey). Broadcasters already on board include France Televisions; SVT (Sweden); YLE (Finland); SRF (German-speaking Switzerland); RTS (French-speaking Switzerland); and TV5 Monde.
“It’s so heart-warming to see Little Bear making his paw mark around the globe,” commented Dandelooo co-founder Emmanuèle Pétry Sirvin. “His fun-filled adventures coupled with his mischievousness promises not only to entertain but to educate preschoolers around the world.”
