‘The Crooked Man’ Finds its Hellboy

The ‘Hellboy’ reboot has cast ‘Deadpool 2’ actor Jack Kesy in a 1950s Appalachian adventure featuring a battle against a community of witches led by the Crooked Man, a local devil.

Hellboy reboot Hellboy: The Crooked Man has cast Jack Kesy (Deadpool 2, The Strain) in the lead ass-kicking role. All other casting is currently in progress. The film features a stranded Hellboy in 1950s rural Appalachia, unwillingly paired with a rookie BPRD agent. The duo are soon confronted with a community of witches led by the Crooked Man, a local devil.

“Jack Kesy is a dynamic actor who has the ability to morph into his roles. His talent and stature are perfect for this younger Hellboy. I was very impressed with him while working together on The Outpost,” said co-President of Millennium Media, Jonathan Yunger according to Deadline.

Brian Taylor (Crank) directs a script penned by Hellboy comic book creator Mike Mignola and Chris Golden.

Hellboy: The Crooked Man is from Millennium Media through German film and TV distributor Telepool in association with Dark Horse Entertainment. The Nu Boyana production is produced in association with Campbell Grobman Film. No word yet on who will handle the devilish VFX. We last saw Hellboy on the big screen in the 2019 reboot, Hellboy, which starred Stranger Things hero David Harbour.
