Creative Planet Launches Movie Magic Animation Budget Builder

Creative Planet, Inc., AWNs parent company, announced on Monday, April 30, 2001, the release of the Animation Budget Builder, a custom add-on for the industry-standard Movie Magic Budgeting software geared for the animation industry. The add-on was designed by Catherine Winder and Zahra Dowlatabadi, authors of the upcoming book, PRODUCING ANIMATION, and represents broadening interest in the development of Movie Magic software. "For years, Movie Magic Budgeting has been a fantastic tool for budgeting and managing the costs of physical production," said Winder. "In researching our book, which covers the business of animation from identification of a property through final delivery, we saw a great opportunity to bring this cost management tool to our industry. The animation Budget Builder is a standardized chart of accounts developed for 2D traditional, 3D CGI and hybrid animated productions. Creative Planet was the obvious choice as a partner in this endeavor." According to Diane Brundage, Creative Planets senior vice president, sales, "As leaders in the animation industry, Catherine and Zahra were ideal partners for customizing Movie Magic Budgeting for animation. The new Animation Budget Builder mirrors Creative Planet's commitment to working with industry leaders to develop our applications. We congratulate Catherine and Zahra on their upcoming book, and look forward to working with them in the future." The Animation Budget Builder software add-on is available free for downloading from the MovieMagicProducer.com site on the Movie Magic Budgeting Web page. Creative Planet provides applications and information services for the entertainment industry.
