Create TV & Film Defines New Management Structure

Create TV & Film Ltd., the newly-established independent production company formed earlier this year out of LEGO Media Internationals TV and film division, has defined its new management team and structure. Vanessa Chapman has become managing director of Create, as well as global controller, TV, film & strategy. Michael Carrington is now head of television and new media, responsible for providing creative, editorial and managerial leadership across the company's television and new media activities. Bob Thompson, as head of film & story, will manage film and direct-to-video productions, as well as the highly skilled character and story development team working on non-broadcast properties. Janice Ross, in Creates Los Angeles office, has become head of the Americas, in charge of managing the marketing, distribution and PR for intellectual properties, which originate in the U.S. or come to the Americas after a European launch. Create Film & TV, which got its auspicious beginnings as LEGO Media, said Chapman, "is now spreading its wings as an independent. I have a very talented and experienced team of people working for me, and the new set-up is designed to allow them to operate even more effectively. Together, we are exploring new strategic alliances as well as seeking to expand our portfolio through development of a wide variety of programming for all platforms." At MIP, Create's stop-frame animation series, LITTLE ROBOTS, was sold to Germany's ZDF and KiKa, Norway's NRK and Canada's TVOntario, SCN and The Knowledge Network.
