Crater Software Returns To Canadian Ownership

Crater Software has ended its four-year partnership with EnEfecto of Barcelona, Spain. Crater Software president Joe Alonso has re-acquired all assets and intellectual properties of the Montreal, Canada-based software developer, including its CTP Pro 2D animation software. "This acquisition was something I was personally looking forward to," said Alonso. "By moving forward with this action, we are now able to decide freely and quickly on the future and growth of CTP Pro and its associated modules, and setting a path of new developments and software features unparalleled by any other 2D animation software." Crater's partner EnEfecto had been acquired by Das Werk of Germany and Alonso stated that having to go through several levels of decision making management in Europe, plus the six hour time difference from the North American East coast made operations a challenge. CTP Pro is the increasingly popular 2D digital ink and paint software. It was used extensively in Christopher Hinton's award-winning short film FLUX.
