DHX Media’s Copyright Promotions Licensing Group appoints Stephen Gould as its new UK Managing Director.
Reporting to CPLG’s CEO Peter Byrne, Gould will replace Vickie O’Malley who is leaving the company after 12 years. CPLG has a renowned reputation in the licensing business, managing the licensing and merchandising rights for some of the leading entertainment, sports and consumer goods brands, including clients such as Universal, Activision, St Andrews Links and the RFU.
Gould is currently Commercial Director at DHX Media and was previously Commercial Director at Ragdoll Worldwide, managing leading global brands including Teletubbies and In the Night Garden. Before joining Ragdoll, Stephen held several senior positions in the licensing industry, including Commercial Director at RDF Rights and Co-Managing Director of 4Kids Entertainment International and 4Sight Licensing Solutions. He has also had key roles at Kids Industries, Fox Kids Europe and HIT Entertainment.
“Stephen has an impressive track record in building major global brands with experience not only as a licensee, licensor and agent, but also with a background in sourcing and development,” says CPLG CEO Peter Byrne commenting on Gould’s appointment. “He is going to be a great asset to CPLG. I would like to thank Vickie for her incredible work and immense passion as part of CPLG over the last 12 years and wish her the very best in her future endeavors. I look forward to Stephen taking the helm as the company gears up for next phase of growth.”
Gould adds: “CPLG has such an incredible pedigree and lineage and is a company I have greatly admired and worked with for many years so I am very excited to be taking on this pivotal and challenging role in leading the expansion and growth of the UK division and its enviable portfolio of top-tier brands.”
