A Conversation with ‘Rick and Morty’ Stars and Co-Creators Set for PaleyFest NY

Insanity and psychopathic science are on the docket at The Paley Center for Media’s 8th annual TV festival; talent behind Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon’s hugely popular Adult Swim animated series scheduled for October 27; event kicks off October 23.

The Paley Center for Media kicks off their 8th annual PalyFest NY on October 23, at 8:00 pm EST/5:00 pm PST, with additional talks on Monday, October 26 at 8:00 pm EST/5:00 pm PST, and Tuesday, October 27 at 8:00 pm/5:00pm. Citi returns as the official card and an official sponsor; Verizon joins as an official sponsor with cast and creative team conversations to be featured on the Paley channel on Verizon Media’s Yahoo Entertainment. The TV festival will feature some of the most popular TV shows, their stars and exclusive behind-the-scenes scoops.

Animation fans won’t want to miss the special presentation of Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty on Tuesday, October 27, featuring stars and co-creator Dan Harmon, Chris Parnell, Sarah Chalke, and Spencer Grammar when they gather with moderator Michael Schneider to celebrate their show. Topics include: “dramatic improvements” to the creative process in the COVID-19 lockdown; Chalke's views on the Beth/Space Beth clone storyline and what it means for the story; the show's impressive 70-episode pickup; finding new sides to Jerry, including his increased bond with Rick; avoiding “Flanderization;” the gradual development of Summer and Rick's complex sibling relationship; favorite moments, including an appearance by Werner Herzog as an alien; the viral popularity of “snake jazz;” cryptic hints about seasons five and six; and the strangely addictive challenge of breaking stories and overthinking their outlandish details.

PaleyFest NY will also include conversations with the cast and creative teams from: All American (The CW), The Boys (Amazon Prime Video), Eli Roth’s History of Horror (AMC), Full Frontal with Samantha Bee (TBS),  20th Anniversary of Girlfriends (Netflix), A Million Little Things (ABC), Supernatural (The CW), and The Undoing (HBO).
