Jo Sweby joined the Contender Entertainment Group (CEG) in the newly created post of international acquisitions manager, responsible for growing CEGs catalog of intellectual properties across the television, video and merchandising divisions by acquiring and expanding both third-party and wholly owned general entertainment and childrens titles internationally.
She will also be responsible for acquiring film titles suitable for theatrical release under the companys highly successful Hong Kong Legends and Premiere Asia brands.
Sweby was director of acquisitions, Europe Middle East and Africa for Turner Entertainment where she was responsible for acquiring content for Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Toonami channels in the U.K., France, Spain, Italy, Eastern Europe and Scandinavia.
