Comedian Steve Marmel To Host The Annie Awards

Comedian and writer Steve Marmel will host the 30th Annual Annie Awards. Marmel, who is nominated at this year's Annie's for his work on THE FAIRLY ODDPARENTS (Outstanding Achievement for Music in an Animated Television Program), where he serves as a writer and story editor, has had a 15-year career as a stand-up comedian, including a one man show for HBO and appearances on COMEDY CENTRAL, THE TONIGHT SHOW with Jay Leno and POLITICALLY INCORRECT with Bill Maher. His animation writing credits include the series JOHNNY BRAVO and COW & CHICKEN. Annie Award ceremony presenters include Daveigh Chase, the voice of Lilo in LILO AND STITCH and the lead voice in Miyazakis SPIRITED AWAY; voice actress Janet Waldo, who brought classic characters Judy Jetson, Penelope Pittstop and others to life; Iwao Takamoto, a former Winsor McCay award winner and longtime Hanna-Barbera artist; Tom Sito, veteran story man and director, currently at work on Warner Bros. LOONEY TUNES BACK IN ACTION; and Chris Sanders, co-director of LILO AND STITCH and the voice of Stitch. ASIFA-Hollywood's 30th Annual Annie Awards, recognizing outstanding achievement in animation will be announced at a black-tie awards ceremony and gala reception on Saturday, February 1, 2003 at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, California.
