CMG Heads to AFM with the 3D Animated Feature ‘The Santa Story’

Cinema Management Group heads to AFM to being international sales of RGH Entertainment’s 3D Animated Feature, The Santa Story.

Continuing CMG’s tradition of bringing high caliber Animated properties to market (Khumba, Zambezia, Hoodwinked), CMG will commence international sales, at the AFM, of a brand new 3D Animated Feature, The Santa Story. The film is scheduled for a 2015 holiday season release. CMG currently represents two out of the nineteen Academy Qualifying films (Khumba and The Legend of Sarila). Khumba has been #1 at the Box Office in South Africa two weeks in a row.

The Santa Story is being produced by RGH Entertainment, a division of Rubicon Group Holding (RGH), at its studios in Los Angeles and Amman. RGH recently completed the animated feature Postman Pat.

Inspired by author L. Frank Baum’s timeless classic, Life and Adventures of Santa Claus, The Santa Story is directed by veteran animation director Anthony Bell from a screenplay written by David J. Corbett. Bell is known for Alpha & Omega which grossed over US $50 million worldwide as well as his work on The Simpsons and Rugrats.

At AFM, CMG will screen some initial footage and invite buyers to take a journey to reveal  the true origins of the little boy named Nick who grew up to become Santa Claus.

Distributors will discover little Nick’s first real life adventures as they unfold in his childhood village. While growing up, Nick must confront his own self-doubts albeit with the help of two amazingly crafty elves, a majestic reindeer and a group of lovable orphans, ultimately maturing into the man we all know and love today - Santa Claus.

“We are thrilled to be working with CMG to bring this endearing tale to a global audience. Our production will reveal the little known story behind the myth of one of the most enchanting imaginary characters of all time,” said RGH CEO Randa Ayoubi.

Edward Noeltner, CMG President stated, “A Dickensian flavor with a fresh take on the Santa Claus legend. Script has strong characters, good writing, and a wonderful mix of humor, pathos, action and adventure. The story is both unique and compelling and I can’t wait to see more footage from the talented group at RGH Entertainment.”

At AFM, CMG will also be screening:

Gateway’s Plastic at the Ocean Screening Room (1401 Ocean Ave) on Wednesday November 6th at 5:00pm, Friday November 8th at 1:00pm, and Monday November 11th at 11:00am.
