Clancy, Puck Make Good in Canada

Studio B Prods. has completed deals with Knowledge Network and SCN, two Canadian educational TV networks, for the animated short CLANCY WITH THE PUCK. Both broadcasters will air the short in high rotation, beginning Dec. 1, 2007. In addition, leading independent Canadian publisher Raincoast Books has shipped the hardcover picture book of the same name, which is packaged with a DVD of the film, into Canada and the U.S.

Created by Chris Mizzoni, CLANCY WITH THE PUCK features the hapless-but-heroic Clancy, who has everything that fans love. When his team has the chance to win the hearts of hometown fans and take home the Stanley Cup, it's all up to Clancy to score the winning goal. The short is narrated by legendary hockey commentator Bob Cole, whose HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA play-by-play is heard by millions of hockey fans every week.

"[This is] the first of what we hope will be many collaborative projects. Studio B and Raincoast's CLANCY WITH THE PUCK reflects the considerable talents of the author/illustrator," stated Jesse Finkelstein, Associate Publisher, Raincoast Books. "This release showcases the common strengths of our two companies: namely, high standards of production, tremendous creativity, marketing savvy and a keen sense of fun."
