Cinesite Adds More Color To Staff

Colorist Frank Roman has joined the digital mastering/intermediate creative team at Cinesite, Inc. Roman is a native of Los Angeles who began his career at Fotokem Film Labs as a telecine assistant for their sister company Fototronics. He subsequently worked for Paramount Pictures and later for MGM/UA, where he was responsible for transferring film to digital formats. "Computer technology provides a powerful tool for restoring and retaining the artistic intentions of filmmakers in digital mastering, and also for working with them to interpret and amplify original photography in a digital intermediate suite," said Roman. "This is a wonderful opportunity because Cinesite is committed to exploring the leading edge of these new frontiers." Pat Repola, vice president of Cinesite Digital Imaging, said, "Frank Roman is an ideal fit for the digital mastering and digital intermediate services that Cinesite is pioneering. He is a talented colorist who has the ability to collaborate with filmmakers in an interactive environment."
